Later, Vrindavan's father rejects Kusum as his daughter-in-law. She moves to a different village. After she grows up she refuses to marry anyone else as she considers herself to be Vrindavan's wife. But Vrindavan marries another girl and they have a baby. His wife dies. Kusum and Vrindavan meet again, but he fails to recognise her. They gradually come close and end up together.
